Rocky Times for The Rock? Dwayne Johnson Prepares To Take a Loss on Georgia Mansion
Matt Winkelmeyer/FilmMagic Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wants to rock a sale of his horse property in Powder Springs, GA.
The Georgia spread landed on the market for $7.5 million. The A-lister faces a heavy lift with a potential sale and is prepped to take a loss. He bought the place in 2019 for over $9 million.

A sprawling 46-acre property, the parcel is dotted with multiple buildings and offers a rustic, upscale retreat.
Built in 2003, the 15,000-square-foot main house includes eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and features wide-plank, old-growth walnut flooring, stone fireplaces, high ceilings, and natural light.
The master suite sits on the main level and opens to a flat, walkout private backyard. The kitchen includes a breakfast bar, island, and stone counters, and looks out to the family room.
In addition, the floor plan includes a den, library, living room, office, gym, wine cellar, and a guest apartment.
On the grounds, there’s a pool, pool pavilion, two apartments, five-car garage, and grassy lawn.
The property also boasts a working 12-stall barn, a riding arena with viewing deck, a haybarn, and a 1867 farmhouse with a historic log cabin.
It’s located close to the popular Buckhead neighborhood and about 45 minutes from the Atlanta airport.
Itâs not clear whether the âFast and Furiousâ actor spent any time in this property at all over the short period of his ownership.
While he owned the place, he was renting a different home close to Atlanta, while he was shooting multiple movies there last year.

Given that Forbes has named him the highest-paid actor in the world, weâre guessing that he was able to cover the cost of the repair.
Now, heâll also have to eat another couple of million dollars after deciding to let go of the equestrian estate for way less than he purchased it.

New to Market: Matt Damon’s Zen Los Angeles Home Asks $21 Million
As part of his plan of leaving Los Angeles and moving his family to the Big Apple, Matt Damon has now listed his Pacific Palisades home for sale. And he’s hoping to cash in big from the sale, asking $21 million for the Zen-inspired contemporary home set in one of LA’s most desirable neighborhoods.
Recently listed with Eric Haskell, an agent with celebrity real estate brokerage The Agency, Matt Damon’s house is an architectural masterpiece with 7 bedrooms, 10 baths, tons of distinct design features and some pretty extraordinary amenities. The Academy Award-winning actor will be trading all this for a 6,000-square-foot penthouse in Brooklyn, New York, having broken records last year by paying $16.745 million for the top floor unit of a famous former hotel, The Standish.

An architectural gem with striking features & Instagram-worthy interiors
Designed by award-winning architect Grant Kirkpatrick, founding partner of leading-edge design studio KAA Design Group, Matt Damon’s house is an extraordinary contemporary home that showcases masterful craftmanship throughout its 13,508-square-foot interiors.
With a modern-yet-timeless design, the house is anchored by a breathtaking atrium with 35-foot mahogany vaulted ceilings. The interiors are bathed in natural light and mix warm wood elements with natural stone, giving the whole space an inviting, relaxing vibe. Other striking features that deserve a shout-out: clerestory windows and glass walls that fuse the indoors with the outdoor areas.

The family room opens to the magnificent chefâs kitchen with custom mahogany cabinetry, Bluestone countertops and stainless steel Viking, Wolf and Miele appliances. The kitchen then opens to the expansive backyard retreat (but more on that in a minute).
All in all, Matt Damon’s soon-to-be former Los Angeles abode packs 7 bedrooms and 10 baths across 13,508 square feet of space. The primary suite comes with its own private terrace, dual dressing rooms, massage room and a spa-style bath with soaking tub and expansive shower. Pretty much every room offers leafy property and treetop views, adding an extra note of serenity to this wonderfully Zen-inspired home.

Amenities galore and a wonderful backyard retreat
Most celebrity homes tend to outdo themselves when it comes to amenities and bonus rooms and Matt Damon’s house is no exception. Interior amenities include a game room, bar, office, gym, plush media room, staff quarters and wine storage and tasting room. And that’s just what you’ll find inside the house.
Outside, the modern home has quite a few amenities that invite calm and relaxation (perfectly in tune with the rest of the house), including an expansive pool, spa, a cascading waterfall, koi pond and Hawaiian-inspired Lanai with a covered lounge and alfresco dining terrace. To appeal to the little ones — Damon is a father of four — there’s also a nice childrenâs play area.

Matt Damon’s next home is vastly different from his Los Angeles digs
The Academy Award-winning actor, who is starring in the highly anticipated Ridley Scott-directed The Last Duel (to be released this year), will soon be leaving Los Angeles behind. The move has long been planned, with Damon and wife Luciana Bozán Barroso having purchased a Brooklyn Heights penthouse two years ago for a record-breaking price.
The couple paid $16.745 million for a 6-bedroom, 6,201-square-foot penthouse at The Standish — a historically significant converted building that was originally built in 1903 as a Beaux Arts hotel. At the time, Damon’s purchase set a new record for the borough, making him the owner of the most expensive property ever sold in Brooklyn.
Despite the fact that the penthouse consists of several units merged for extra space, the actor will be downsizing considerably. And the loss in square footage is matched by a significant downgrade in outdoor space — though it’s worth noting that Matt Damon’s new home does have an expansive terrace, a rarity for New York City. There’s no Zen backyard pool though, so we’re pretty sure the Good Will Hunting actor will, at times, miss his Pacific Palisades retreat.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen Finally Sell Their Massachusetts Mansion
realtor.com, John Shearer/Getty Images
NFL great Tom Brady has finally offloaded his Massachusetts mansion. The quarterback and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, have sold their luxe Brookline estate, according to the Boston Globe.
The transaction appears to have been an off-market deal, with no price information disclosed for the transaction. Sources told the Globe that the property was offered for $32.5 million.
The custom-built,12,000-square-foot estate outside of Boston initially debuted at $39.5 million in 2019, then quickly dropped to $33.9 million.
The mansion built in 2015 came off the market in May, when luxury home sales were stalled by the coronavirus pandemic. But a buyer surfaced at the end of 2020.

Brookline abode
In 2013, the couple picked up a prime 5-acre plot from the local cash-strapped Pine Manor College for $4.5 million.
They tapped architect Richard Landry, of Landry Design Group, to create their East Coast estate. Landry has also worked on the couple’s Los Angeles mansion, which was featured in Architectural Digest.
Landry’s design sits adjacent to the ninth hole of the Country Club in Brookline, with serene views and plenty of privacy.
The five-bedroom main house features a dining room, living room, home office, chef’s eat-in kitchen, and family room. A grand stairwell leads to the bedrooms on the second floor.
The lower level includes a rec room, playroom, wine room, gym, and spa.

The sprawling grounds include gardens, a pool, and a âbarn-inspiredâ guesthouse with a yoga studio, full bathroom, and sleeping loft. The property comes with a three-car garage, carport, and circular drive with ample parking.
Brady’s mansion sits just down the road from Reebok founder Paul Fireman‘s lavish property, which was finally sold in 2020 after four years on the market. That 27,000-square-foot mansion had been priced at as much as $90 million, before finally selling for $23 million. George and Manny Sarkis of Douglas Elliman represented Fireman.
The agents also sold Fireman’s adjacent 7 acres for $18 million to developer C. Stumpo Development, which plans to build luxury homes on the land.
âAfter closing on both 150 Woodland Road [the Fireman home] and the five adjacent lots, we are very excited about the current and future Brookline market,” says Manny. “Buyers continue to trend to the suburbs, seeking more land and bigger homes.”

Manhattan move
The jet-setting duo received another Christmas gift of good news in 2020, with a reported sale of their Tribeca loft. The two had made the penthouse available for just under $40 million last November. If they got their asking price, they’ll stroll away with a large profit.
The couple had picked up the place in 2018 for $25.46 million. The five-bedroom, 5.5-bath unit features a 1,900-square-foot terrace and Hudson River views. Building amenities include an 82-foot lap pool and a private drive-in entrance.
The couple still own a lower-floor unit in the same 14-floor building.
New year, new homes
Brady left Brookline after he signed with the Buccaneers. The QB has since put roots down in South Florida. In October, Brady and Bundchen were reportedly circling a waterfront property in Clearwater.
And then Brady made a move on Florida’s other coast in December, with a reported $17 million purchase of a home on Miamiâs Indian Creek Island, known as the Billionaires Bunker.
The couple plan to raze the current house on the land in Miami and build anew. They’re reportedly looking to emulate the L.A. home they sold to Dr. Dre for $40 million in 2014. Sounds like the services of their favorite architect may once again be required.

Trophy Apartment Once Owned by Composer Leonard Bernstein Asks $29.5 Million
An Upper East Side apartment that was once home to one of the most significant American cultural personalities of the 20th century has recently hit the market.
The Art Deco masterpiece at 895 Park Avenue was previously owned by famed composer and cultural icon Leonard Bernstein, whom music critics refer to as “one of the most prodigiously talented and successful musicians in American history”. In fact, this very property is where Bernstein — also a lifelong humanitarian, civil rights advocate, and peace activist — hosted an infamous âradical chicâ party with and in support of the Black Panther Party back in 1970.
But its famous past owner is not the building’s only historical trait; built in 1929, it is designed in the classic Art Deco style, evoking New York Cityâs golden age glamour and sophistication. That, paired with its carefully preserved original architectural details (original wood-burning fireplaces and wide-plank wood floors) and panoramic Manhattan views make this residence a true gem.

Clocking in at approximately 6,300 square feet, with an extra 700 square feet of private outdoor space, the 895 Park Avenue unit spans over two floors of the 21-story Upper East Side building. The entrance is through a private elevator landing which opens into a 34-foot grand gallery, further leading into the residence’s elegant formal living room, library, and dining room.
With 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, the trophy apartment also comes with an enclosed solarium that’s bathed in sunlight and that, just like the rest of the rooms and outdoor spaces, opens up to picture-perfect views of the city.

A grand staircase leads to the lower level, which houses the 6 bedrooms, as well as a home office and laundry room. All but one of the bedrooms enjoys their own en-suite bathroom as well as significant storage space in the form of walk-in closets or dressing rooms.

The building itself adds an extra note of sophistication and convenience; the full-service white glove co-op has a long list of amenities, including multiple doormen, an elevator attendant, health club, squash court, basketball court, and private storage units. Though location itself may be its biggest asset: 895 Park Avenue is located right in the heart of the Upper East Side, on the southeast corner of 79th street and Park Avenue, providing direct access to world-class dining and shopping.
Priced at $29.5 million, the elegant unit is listed with Bonnie Chajet, Allison Chiaramonte, and Tania Isacoff Friedland of Warburg Realty.

‘Daily Show’ Host Trevor Noah Reportedly Buys Bel-Air Mansion for $27.5M
realtor.com, Jeff Schear/Getty Images
The host of the âDaily Show,â Trevor Noah, has picked up another purchase in Bel-Air, the L.A. Times reported.Â
The comedian has shown that he has seriously expensive taste in real estate, splashing out a whopping $27.5 million on a luxury mansion in the swanky Los Angeles neighborhood. The deal closed at the end of the year, realtor.com® records show.
The contemporary mansion had been on the market for as much as $36 million in 2018, but the price was reduced over the years. It was first cut to $32.5 million and landed at $29.5 million in 2020, before Noah scooped it up for an even lower amount.
If the transaction seems familiar, it’s because it isn’t his first foray into the Bel-Air market. In 2019, the stand-up star purchased a posh pad in the same area for $20.5 million. He then flipped that mansion for $21.7 million in August. He has now jumped back into the real estate game with an even pricier property.Â
Designed by the architect Mark Rios and built in 2014, the home spans 11,000 square feet and offers indoor-outdoor living, with city and ocean views.Â
The roomy floor plan includes six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and three powder rooms, in a residence surrounded by gardens and pathways. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the living area lead out to a pool. The main level layout also features a chefâs kitchen, formal dining room, and den.
Upstairs, the master suite features dual bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes. Another four en suite bedrooms, office, or staff quarters complete the second floor.

Other luxe amenities include a gym, spa, office, lounge, third-floor screening room with rooftop terrace, and a separate guest suite with a game room.
The property is also equipped with an elevator and Crestron automation, as well as a security office and motor court.
Noah, 36, has hosted the âDaily Showâ since 2015. He has been delivering a stripped-down show from his Manhattan condo since the coronavirus pandemic.
The show, now dubbed âThe Daily Social Distancing Show with Trevor Noah,â features him wearing a seemingly limitless wardrobe of hoodies in varying shades. He picked up the Hell’s Kitchen penthouse for $10 million in 2017.

The South African has been sharing his good fortune, and has reportedly been paying the salaries of 25 of his crew himself, since they were put on furlough when the in-studio production was halted.
It seems he can afford it. Forbes ranked the Emmy-award winning entertainer as the fourth highest-paid comedian in 2019, with a reported income of $28 million, mainly for his stand-up shows. His memoir, âBorn a Crime,â was a critically heralded New York Times bestseller.
Linda May with Hilton & Hyland represented the seller. Jonah Wilson with Hilton & Hyland represented the buyer.

Extreme Makeover’s Ty Pennington Lists Bright and Beautiful Venice Beach Home
Reality TV star Ty Pennington, known for changing peopleâs lives with his energetic personality on the original version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is now looking to cash in on his own home makeover. Pennington has just listed his house — a beautiful and bright 1927 Craftsman in Venice, Calif. — for $2,795,000.
Pennington put his home design expertise to good use and carefully restored the property earlier this year with the help of his trusted interior designer, Patrick Delanty. Delanty, also known to be Halle Berry’s designer, has long been working alongside Ty Pennington, serving as his design director for Extreme Makeover and running his on-air design segments, most notably his presence on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Rachel Ray Show, NBCâs Nightline and Good Morning America.
Just like its reality TV star owner, the home is bright, cheerful and quirky, with colorful interiors exuding creativity and style. The property is listed by Patrice Meepos of Compass.

Tucked away on a one-way street near the beach, Venice Boardwalk, canals and Abbot Kinney’s hot spots, the original 1927 dwelling has 3 beds, 3 baths, and a sizable living room with decorative fireplace, along with a sunken family room with large windows overlooking a newly landscaped, private back yard with koi pond.

The ground level hosts the kitchen, laundry room, and bedroom with direct backyard access, as well as a full bath. On the upper level, there’s a master retreat and a second bedroom.
Ty Pennington added quite a few special touches to the 2,102-square-foot home, including bamboo flooring, baths adorned in vintage-inspired ceramic tile, a master bath sporting a standalone shower and an antique cast-iron freestanding tub, kitchen with concrete countertops and a wraparound, porcelain-tiled porch. There’s also a beautiful backyard that looks like a great place to entertain guests.

While Ty Pennington did not return to host HGTV’s 2020 version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (which is hosted by Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson), you can catch the two time Emmy award winner in his other home improvement series, Trading Spaces — which recently restarted airing after a 10-year hiatus.
You can also get more tips from the home design expert from his latest book, Good Design Can Change Your Life, which is an intimate look at Tyâs design inspirations and is full of décor advice and tips. While we haven’t yet had the chance to pick up the book ourselves, according to his website the book is part reference, and part behind-the-scenes from Tyâs own home remodeling, which means the Venice home is already a bookshelf hit.
